We collect and process your information only as necessary to provide you with a safe, private, and personalised companion experience.
We, at Sheket Technologies LLP ("Deeda / We / Our"), understand and appreciate the trust you place in us when you use the Deeda app and website (collectively, the "Application"). We are committed to protecting your personal information to the fullest extent possible, including as required by applicable law.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. This Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Use and comes into effect from the date mentioned herein.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Application after such notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
In this Policy, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
Deeda is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect or process Personal Information from Minors. Age is verified at the time of registration using your indicated date of birth, and this check is enforced on our servers.
If we become aware that a Minor has created a User Account, we will immediately block and delete the account along with all associated data. If you believe a Minor has registered without authorisation, please contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@sheket.life.
We collect the minimum information necessary to deliver the Deeda experience. You control most of what you share.
When you create a User Account, we collect your mobile phone number, date of birth, and the optional profile details you choose to share — such as a nickname, gender, a brief description of yourself, your interests, and your preferred communication style. The more context you provide, the more personalised your companion experience can be. Most of this information is optional.
You also configure your AI companion by giving them a name, personality, and conversational style. This configuration is stored so your companion remains consistent across every session.
When you have conversations with your companion, we create and store a memory of meaningful things you share — preferences, important life context, facts about you — so your companion can remember you over time. We do not store a word-for-word transcript of your conversations in our permanent database. We store the meaning of what you share, not a verbatim record. Please refer to Clause 5 for details on how Companion Data is handled.
When you use the Application, we automatically collect technical information such as session times, feature usage patterns, and performance data. This information is anonymised and is never linked to your conversation content. It is used solely to keep the Application running reliably and to improve the Services.
If you use mood check-in or journaling features, the entries you create are stored and associated with your User Account.
Payments for subscriptions are processed entirely by third parties like Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation that a subscription is active or has lapsed. Your submission of payment information to these third-party platforms is governed by their respective privacy policies.
We do not use advertising trackers. We do not sell, rent, or license your Personal Information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not collect information beyond what is required to give you a superior experience with Deeda.
We collect your information in the following ways:
Companion Data is the most sensitive information on the Application. We treat it with the highest level of care.
5.1 Companion Data is processed solely for the purpose of generating your companion's responses and supporting your companion's memory.
5.2 To enable your companion to recognise you and respond in a way that feels personal, the information you have chosen to share with us is used in the course of generating each response. This is what allows your companion to remember you over time.
5.3 No member of the Sheket Technologies LLP team accesses the content of your conversations or your companion's memories as part of normal operations. Access to underlying systems is strictly limited to authorised personnel for the limited purposes of operating, securing, and supporting the Application.
5.4 Your information is protected by appropriate technical and organisational security measures, including encryption.
5.5 Companion Data will not be used for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering your companion experience.
5.6 You may delete your Companion Data at any time — individual memories, all memories for a specific companion at once, or all data via account deletion. See Clause 10.
Deeda uses your information only for the following purposes:
We retain your Personal Information for as long as your User Account is active and as necessary to provide you with the Services. Companion Data retention follows the principles set out in Clause 5.
Upon account deletion, your Personal Information and Companion Data are permanently erased from our systems in accordance with the three-step deletion process described in Clause 10. A minimal anonymised record may be retained for up to 30 days for fraud prevention purposes, after which it is permanently destroyed.
Anonymised safety event logs are retained for up to 12 months for audit compliance and then deleted. These contain no personal identifiers and no conversation content.
Where required by law — for example for tax, regulatory, or legal proceedings — we may retain certain information for the period mandated by applicable law.
8.1 We share your information only with trusted technology service providers who help us deliver the Deeda Services. These providers are contractually bound to process your information only as we direct and for no other purpose. All service providers engaged by Sheket Technologies LLP are required to adhere to the same standards of data protection as we maintain.
8.2 We do not sell, rent, license, or otherwise share your Personal Information or Companion Data with any third party for advertising, marketing, or commercial purposes.
8.3 We may share anonymised, aggregated information — which cannot be traced back to any individual — with research or analytics partners to improve the quality of our services broadly.
8.4 In the following limited circumstances, we may be required to share your Personal Information with third parties:
8.5 If Sheket Technologies LLP is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
8.6 The Application may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Accessing them is governed by their own privacy policies.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your Personal Information and Companion Data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. Deeda uses OTP-based authentication — you should never share your OTP with anyone. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at grievance@sheket.life.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights:
10.1 Right to Access — you may request information about the Personal Information we hold about you, including the purposes for which it is processed and the parties it is shared with.
10.2 Right to Correction — you may update or correct your profile information at any time from within the Application.
10.3 Right to Erasure — you may delete your data at any time:
10.4 Right to Withdraw Consent — you may withdraw your consent to data processing at any time by deleting your account. Withdrawal of consent will result in termination of the Services.
10.5 Right to Nominate — in accordance with Section 14 of the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to nominate another individual who may, in the event of your death or incapacity, exercise your data rights on your behalf. To register a nominee, contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@sheket.life.

If you grant Deeda permission to send notifications, we may send you mood check-in prompts as part of features available on certain subscription tiers. We do not send promotional or marketing notifications.
You may disable notifications at any time in your device settings. This will not affect your access to the Application or the Services.
If you have a complaint, concern, or request relating to your Personal Information or the exercise of your rights under this Policy, you may contact our Grievance Officer:

We will acknowledge your complaint and resolve it within a reasonable timeframe. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the Data Protection Board of India, once constituted under the DPDP Act 2023.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
By ticking the acceptance checkbox during registration, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and consent to the collection, storage, use, and processing of your Personal Information and Companion Data for the purposes and in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.
You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time by contacting our Grievance Officer at grievance@sheket.life or by deleting your account from within the Application.
